Nick PriznarWe were deeply saddened to learn that Nicholas (Nick) M. Priznar, well-known geologist with the Arizona Dept. of Transportation, passed away on May 16, 2014.  Nick Priznar was an engineering geologist with ADOT for the last 30 years, ensuring the state roadways and highways were solid and sound for those traveling them. The next time you're driving through Arizona, remember Nick and all the other people who spend their lives making roads durable and safe for the public.

Nick’s technical knowledge and expertise had a tremendous influence on ADOT’s bridge foundations, slope stability, and rock-fall projects.  Nick was always the Arizona Geological Survey’s 'go-to guy' at ADOT for sharing or seeking geologic information. Nick was a long-time member of the Arizona Geological Society.

Nick’s family asked that contributions in his name be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of the Valley, St. Joseph's Medical Center, John C. Lincoln Hospital or the Arizona Geological Survey.
