With nearly 40 publications in 2011, this has been a prolific year for AZGS. We published 10 Open-File Reports and 16 Contributed Reports, most of the latter were legacy documents from the 1950s -1960s uranium exploration and mining boom of northeastern Arizona. Other active serials include: Contributed Maps (2 maps), Digital Geologic Maps (4 maps), Digital Information (one shapefile showing all mapped earth fissures in Arizona), and Digital Maps (5 earth fissure maps).
Maps and reports published in 2011 are available 24/7 at the Arizona Geologic Survey’s online Document Repository. Around-the-clock accessibility has greatly enhanced dissemination of AZGS reports and map products. By way of example, here are a few cases of particularly successful AZGS publications from 2011.
