AZGS’s Ann Youberg worked in collaboration with U.S. Forest Service BAER team members to assess potential, post-fire geologic hazards associated with the Horseshoe 2 fire in the Chiricahua Mountains.
Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Seismic Workshop/Palo Verde

Workshop was in response to the major Japanese earthquake from March of 2011 that resulted in severely damaged nuclear plants. Topics included: current understanding of AZ seismicity and faulting, site response to ground-shaking, and current strong-motion monitoring efforts at PVNGS. AZGS Staff in attendance: Director Lee Allison, Phil Pearthree, and Jeri Young.
