The Mississippian Escabrosa Limestone is the southeastern Arizona equivalent of the Redwall Limestone. Outcrops are particularly prevalent in the mountainous regions of Pinal and Pima counties. Ransome named the Escabrosa Limestone from Escabrosa Ridge near Bisbee in 1904.
