October 18, 2012 | Picacho Peak, Arizona | A panoramic view from the main saddle below Picacho Peak, looking north into Picacho (left) and Avra (right) basins, separated by Picacho Mountains. The Picacho basin is one of the ten deepest Cenozoic basins in the Basin and Range Province, with large accumulations of basin-fill sediment and evaporite deposits (salt, anhydrite and gypsum).
