Bright Angel Trail, Bright Angel Canyon, Paleozoic stratigraphy

Bright Angel Fault, Grand Canyon National Park | AZ

Bright Angel Fault, which extends between the two green arrows, cuts through Bright Angel Canyon in Grand Canyon.  The wall west of the fault is 150 feet (50 meters) higher than the wall east of the fault. The fault is still active, occasionally rattling visitors when it slips. Look closely and you'll see the Bright Angel Trail. (Photo by Janel Day)
